Standing Unashamed on Solid Ground: A Study of Romans 9
- The Foundation of Sound Theology: Standing firm in faith requires more than just knowing what is believed; it requires understanding the "why." A solid theological foundation allows Christians to remain unashamed and steady, regardless of cultural shifts.
- Sovereignty and the Freedom to Choose: While God is the sovereign Creator, the doctrine of election is not a denial of human will. Scripture reveals a God who has placed eternity in every human heart and provides a genuine path of salvation for all who choose to respond to His invitation.
- Children of Promise, Not Heritage: Being part of God’s family is not determined by physical descent, DNA, or works. Just as the promise was reckoned through Isaac, spiritual life is a result of faith in God’s specific plan and promise rather than human performance.
- The Justice of the Potter: As the Potter, God has the right to form the clay as He sees fit, yet He remains perfectly just. He shows great patience toward those who reject Him and uses even their rebellion to fulfill His ultimate purposes, while pouring out the riches of His glory on those who receive His mercy.
- Righteousness Through Faith Alone: True righteousness cannot be attained by pursuing the law or through personal effort. It is found only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Those who rely on their own works will stumble, but those who believe in Him will never be put to shame.
- The Master’s Universal Invitation: Reflecting the heart of the "Great Banquet," God desires His house to be full. Christians are called to be ambassadors and "living epistles," prayerfully engaging in gospel conversations to compel others to accept the invitation to follow Christ.
