About Us

Our school has been a leader among private schools since the early 1970’s. Our standards in teaching, academics and spiritual environment have given us a strong place of leadership in the educational system in the city of Mobile. On January 12, 2010 we were honored to be inducted into The National Elementary Honor Society. We are also in The Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools. We implement the A Beka Book curriculum. This program includes Bible, phonics, reading, writing, numbers, art, simple math, class singing, and P.E. Our students have gone on to excel as doctors, lawyers, teachers, professionals and in many other areas of academic achievements. It is the achievements of these students that we are most grateful for because our ministry has been to educate and spiritually equip boys and girls for the world in the 21st century. We feel well qualified in doing this because of the teacher’s commitment and the student’s academic achievement in our program and ministry. Government Street Baptist Church is a strong supporter of Christian growth and maturity. We share this in the lives of our students by giving them a secure atmosphere and a spiritual surrounding.   • Congratulations to all the Honor Roll students and their families for working hard and doing a great job. Thank you to all the teachers and staff members that work hard every day to make our school family succeed. We would like to thank everyone who helped make Parent/Student Night a success.

  • We are collecting box tops to furnish new books for the library. Thank you for all of your help!

  • The National Honors Society club has been raising funds to help with the purchase of AR books. An order for books is being made and should soon be available.

  • Government Street Church’s Long Range Planning Committee presented to the church approval for two smart boards to be purchased and placed for school use. The boards have been installed in the Middle School and teacher training has been completed.
